This is a second home for a joint family based in Mumbai. Being nature enthusiast, they insisted on making a structure with minimal footprint and larger openings to witness maximum nature view that surrounds them. The cubic structure is a contemporary translation of the traditional architecture found in its context. Internally, the structure comprises of a living space, three bedrooms, a multipurpose space that opens out as an elongated deck and a water body. The stairwell is well illuminated with a glass slit that runs along the length and wraps around like a skylight. Large panels of glazing front the entire space. These can be slid back to grant access to the villa's pool, deck and large spans of greenery. The structure overall evokes a sense of a ‘comfortable, private life’.
